It has been about six months since all federal funding to NPR and PBS were cut.
At least one publication, The National Review, is asking why few if any public media stations have shut down as a result. We have always been warned that’s what would happen.
In fairness, most station managers quoted at the time of the funding cuts said in their public statements that their budgets would allow for a full year without further federal subsidies.
