The deal is reportedly so close that some are looking past it.
Nexstar is closing in on a deal to buy rival Tegna in a transaction that could effect multiple stations in Connecticut(WTNH and WTIC to start). Tegna stock prices jumped at the end of last week in response and there is new reporting that Nexstar is looking beyond Tegna at other properties it wants to add to its portfolio.
If you were watching the arrival of Russian President Putin in Alaska Friday you may have heard a reporter shout the question, “President Putin, will you stop killing civilians?” To which Putin responded by pointing to his ear as if he could not hear the question. Although we couldn’t see for ourselves, former WTNH’s Rachel Scott – now with ABC News – is being credited with asking the question.
