Yes, MSNBC will be changing its name, but CNBC will not when the networks’ newly formed parent company Versant breaks away from NBC Universal by the end of the year.
The network announced it will be changing its name to “MS NOW,” which stands for My Source – News Opinion World. CNBC, which is also spinning off to Versant will retain its name which – as everyone knows – stands for “Consumer News and Business Channel,” and always has.
In addition to the new name there are almost certain to be new graphic looks for both networks minus the peacock. With regards to MSNBC’s programming, many of the personalities will remain and so it seems will be the leftward tilt. However, a promise to deliver the best “news and opinion” journalism, could require the newly named network to bring in more conservative voices.
