Former ESPN anchor Charley Steiner, who began his career in Connecticut at WAVZ and WPOP, used Facebook this week to criticize ESPN for slashing its workforce.

Steiner is currently the play by play announcer for the Los Angeles Dodgers Radio Network.

Steiner’s social media rant came following ESPN’s announcement that it planned to layoff 300 people companywide with 200 of those cuts hitting the company’s Bristol, Connecticut headquarters.

In part, here’s what Steiner had to say:

I’ve been away from ESPN about as long as I was there. 14-years…but the pain, anger, frustration, sadness and outrage I feel after the mass executions (harsh, but occupationally and socially correct) of the past week of so many people I know, worked, lived and grew up with is enormously painful…
