We must have been at the beach when Ben Sosenko joined the NBC Connecticut news team – he never got the Laurel welcome to the market (here’s how you pronounce New Haven, Berlin, Cheshire, etc.).  Ben came to the station in July of this year from News12 Westchester, where he was a freelance news reporter. Before that he was the sports director at WRNN in Westchester. According to his official bio,

Before moving to the northeast, Ben spent time in tiny midwest markets like Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Grand Forks, North Dakota.Though a New England native, born in Boston, Ben was raised in North Miami Beach, Florida. He attended the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with an undergraduate degree in history.  He earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Miami.

  1. I really enjoyed Ben’s work in New York, and agree with the previous posters that he’s a welcome addition to the CT news scene. His reporting is informative and to-the-point, and he’s as adept covering hard news as he he is the fluff pieces. Over the Xmas weekend, they actually had him sub for the sports anchor. One day I hope they let him sit in at the main anchor desk. He’d be very good.
