Impeachment Takes a Detour to CT: Courant Reporter Interviewed on MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show Explains Connection

The old adage “All Politics Is Local” took a strange turn tonight when the Ukraine scandal that has engulfed the White House and led to the impeachment of President Trump was linked to Connecticut GOP Congressional candidate Robert Hyde of Simsbury.  Hyde’s name and a series of messages between him and Rudy Giuliani’s infamous associate, Lev Parnas, were unearthed in a trove of documents Parnas turned over to the House Intelligence Committee.

Everyone outside of CT (and many in CT as well) following tonight’s news was probably asking, “Who is Robert Hyde?”  One influential media personality who asked that question was Rachel Maddow of MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show.  Thankfully, Hartford Courant reporter Daniela Altimari was available to fill Maddow and her national primetime audience in on Hyde and his recent antics in Connecticut.  Kudos to Altimari for providing viewers across the country with a sense of who Robert Hyde is as the plot continues to thicken on this national scandal.
