One of the best people you could meet in the broadcasting industry – or any industry – was Joe DiMaggio of NBC CT.  Joe died this week and leaves behind his legions of colleagues and friends who will never forget him.

When we learned that Joe died we called former anchor Gerry Brooks: “He was an engineer, but he knew something about everything to keep a television station on the air. He was a counselor to younger technical folks, and a sounding board for all. He was also a man of deep faith, the only person I ever called a saint on earth, and the only person I know who I believe punched a one way ticket to heaven.”

In 2015 Joe was inducted into the Connecticut Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame.

Rest in peace, Joe.
