The week that the state mastery test scores are released, the state’s largest newspaper is without its K-12 education reporter. Grace Merritt was among those laid-off last week; she did a great job covering statewide education issues and had a deep knowledge of her subject. And the upcoming legislative session is the one that Governor Malloy has indicated will be the “Education Session”.
