A recent FCC report notes that one reason it took so long for the corruption in Bell, Calif., to come to light was that no local media regularly covered the city government.
Since the money in journalism has been spread thin I guess it only makes sense that so are the reporters. I guess this just places a higher importantance on bloggers who specialize in certain topics–for better or worse.
