Eileen McNamara. The former managing editor of the Bristol Press has changed careers and is now the owner of The Shop at 70 Main in East Hampton, Connecticut. The store specializes in bespoke clothing and accessories made by….wait for it…Eileen McNamara. The store opened in October.

Jacob Wycoff. The former WTNH intern has just joined Western Mass News as evening meteorologist. Which would seem to make his job that much easier. To paraphrase the Hippie Dippie Weatherman: Tonight’s forecast; dark.

Linda Lowenthal. The former editor of the Wesleyan Argus(’85) wrote a letter to the editor this week defending her former paper against those willing to cut the budget over a freedom of speech issue. Not surprisingly, Lowenthal comes down in favor of free speech.

Sarah Palin. The former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate now admits Katie Couric asked her a fair question when she inquired about Palin’s news reading habits back in 2008. Speaking in an interview this week, Palin said Couric’s question was fair, but her answer was “crappy.”
