The big split between MSNBC and NBC News begins Monday October 6.
Except for news coming out of Washington, D.C., starting the first Monday in October MSNBC will no longer rely on the news gathering resources of NBC News. Two weeks later, the transition will be complete and MSNBC, soon to be re-branded at MS NOW, will be on its own. The birth of a new independent news gathering organization.
The legal separation of the two networks is on track to be complete by the first of next year. Approximately three and a half months from now.
