A musical centered around former Governor Ella Grasso and her role in the 1965 state Constitutional Convention, will be performed this afternoon(Friday March 6) at the state Capitol.

Written by Linda Ross Meyer, a professor emerita at Quinnipiac University, the play focuses on how the convention was able to reach consensus despite being evenly divided along partisan lines. Ross Meyer says the story gives her hope that the system can eventually overcome the deep divides in today’s politics.

The event is free. You can register through the League of Women Voters.
