As of today(Wednesday) the Pentagon becomes a black box.
Dozens of reporters are expected to turn in their press passes because they and the organizations they work for are refusing to sign on to a new Department of Defense policy that would require them to only use material approved by the Pentagon.
Nearly every credentialed news organization covering the Pentagon has signed onto a letter refusing to go along with the new policy. For the first time since the building opened in the late 1940s, there will be no journalists roaming the halls asking questions about what the agency is doing on behalf of the taxpayers who fund the U.S. military and rely on it for protection.
