Lawmakers will get an update next week on the investigation into the case of a man who was allegedly held captive in Waterbury for 20 years. Sen. Stephen Harding (R- Brookfield) pushed for the meeting due to what he calls the Department of Children and Families’ (DCF) lack of transparency in the four months since the man was rescued.

What can be done in Washington to rein in the cost of child care? Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D- Connecticut) details the Child Care for Working Families act, which he is cosponsoring. It would cap the cost of child care for most Americans.
