Public health officials have certainly learned in the last year the importance of reaching people in diverse communities and in multiple languages.
The Meriden Record-Journal has long understood the need and has been operating a Latino Communities Reporting Lab. In conjunction with that work, the paper is currently advertising for a part-time bilingual (English-Spanish) reporter to help cover issues related to Covid-19 in the Latino community.
