John Ferraro
Seven years ago the Hartford Courant lost veteran investigative editor John Ferraro. Now he’s back, and as the Executive Editor. He replaces Helen Bennett, who is retiring after five years at the helm of the paper.
In the intervening years since leaving the Courant, John has been with Hearst CT, most recently as Managing Editor of Hartford & New Haven counties. (There was a stint with Lee Enterprises too but apparently Hearst was happy to have him back.) The only loser in this equation: John’s Hearst colleagues who will miss him greatly.
As for Helen Bennett, kudos to her. It can not have been easy managing a radically-downsized news organization that no longer operates out of a bricks and mortar newsroom. We wish her the best in her well-deserved retirement after many years devoted to Connecticut journalism.
