A Torrington Register-Citizen reporter was asked not to sit in on a meeting between parents and the school board on the decision to not appoint Dr. Marsha Olsen as permanent principal at Torrington High School. According to the Superintendent:
It was important to be respectful of parents to provide them with the ability to express concerns to the district without the feeling that somebody would be publicly criticizing each and every word that came out of their mouths.
