Former Fox 61 reporter Laurie Perez is one of the many news reporters covering the mass shooting this weekend in Monterey Park, California.
She was working Saturday night covering the Lunar New Year celebration for KCAL just a few minutes from the scene of the shooting. She did a live shot at ten. The shooting happened at 10:22p.m. She was then dispatched to the nearby medical center where some of the surviving victims were admitted.
