Longtime New Haven Register sports columnist Dave Solomon died in a car crash Saturday. He was returning from covering the UConn football team’s first practice of the season.
Dave worked at the Register for more than 35 years. He began his career at the now defunct Hartford Times. His “I Was Thinking” column has appeared on Page 2 of the Sunday sports section for more than a decade. He is survived by his wife, Judy, and two daughters. Judy requested that his final column run today.
