Ferraro Leaves for Lee

The Laurel has learned John Ferraro, the group managing editor for Hearst Connecticut Media will soon depart for a new role with Lee Enterprises.

He will continue to be based in Connecticut serving as national projects editor for Lee which owns newspapers in 77 markets nationwide. Several of the Lee papers are considered legacy properties, such as; the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Tulsa World, Buffalo News, and Omaha World Herald.

Before  joining Hearst CT in 2019, Ferraro was an editor with the Hartford Courant and the Hartford Business Journal.

Laurel readers may remember that Lee was the subject of a takeover bid by Alden Global Capital that ended with Global losing in the first half of last year. Alden is the present owner of the Courant.
