Dr. Mel Goldstein has battled multiple myeloma for sixteen years (even though that type of cancer carries a three year life expectancy) but a mysterious pain has knocked him off the air. Dr. Mel has been feeling this pain since March but, according to the New Haven Register, he is keeping quite busy these days.

Feel better soon, Dr. Mel. Being in constant pain is horrible and I hope your doctors can find out what is causing it and treat it accordingly. You are an inspiration to all of us with chronic diseases. Hopefully you won’t decide to resign because you will be missed.

Channel 8 is going downhill fast. First we lost Geoff Fox on the 11 pm news and had to switch to FOX news to see him, now we dont’ have Dr. Mell at noon, so there is little reason to watch WTNH at all
