The once more unto the breach edition…
As this memo posts we are a few hours into the latest major storm making this winter feel like the longest in recent memory.
Much of the region is experiencing blizzard conditions. Up to two feet of snow is possible and flooding is likely at high tide along the coast. We thought spring was in sight as temperatures settled into the 40s last week and seemed headed close to fifty this week, but nature wedged this surprise into the calendar at the end of February.
Former CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell is back on the set of CBS Mornings this week in what some are speculating is a test run for a possible full time return to the show. As the guessing continues over the future of former WFSB anchor Gayle King with the show, the O’Donnell substitution has some wondering whether pairing the two together again might lift CBS’s lagging morning ratings.
NPR has built and published an archive on the history of the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. It contains audio and video from the day and a full record of the many court cases stemming from the event.
Crooked Media, the podcasting company that is home to shows like Pod Save America and Strict Scrutiny, has signed a deal with MS NOW to bring its podcasts to cable news. Beginning this Saturday, Crooked on MS NOW will air each week at 9p.m. One of Crooked’s recently added properties is Runaway Country with MS NOW contributor and former evening host Alex Wagner.
