When WFSB parted ways with long-time anchor Dennis House, The Laurel speculated the personnel move might be the pre-cursor of a sale of the station by Meredith Corporation. Media company ownership often looks to reduce costs before putting a property up for sale.
Bloomberg is reporting, several of its sources indicate Meredith may be looking to sell all its television properties. The move would allow the company to concentrate on its magazine business. Including WFSB, Meredith owns seventeen stations across the country with various network affiliations.
This is not the first time Meredith television properties have been the subject of speculation in what has historically been known as “The Land of the Three.”
