Former WTNH meteorologist Matt Scott has joined News12 as a freelance weather guy. Matt made his debut during yesterday’s 7:30pm broadcast.

Matt is no stranger to social media and he noted via his Twitter feed that “the makeup bag has been pulled out of retirement.”

  1. Thank you for the mention – just helping them out in a freelance capacity – when they need me, they’ll call. I am happy to be with a great team of professionals. Paul Piorek and Jamie Booth are great when it comes to weather, and I’m delighted that the bosses at News 12 felt that I could fill their shoes when need be!

Now can anyone help me remember how to put on makeup properly for a high-def newscast? 🙂

  2. I did like Jamie Booth who has been on vacation for over 2 months which I think is strange. I didn’t like Jamie when she did the 10 p.m. edition with Erica Zaky. The two of them constantly giggle and act like 5 year olds doing the news and weather which is unprofessional and distracting. I guess I’ll be labeled a bully again for simply asking that the anchors and forecasters should act professional and leave the socializing and sillyness at home.

  3. Perhaps Matt can help some of the anchors from News 12 CT with their English. Considering these anchors are college are college grads, they cannot master elementary level English. For example one anchor said people were “doning” to a charity (donating is the proper word). Same anchor asked a man how it felt to be a cannate for senate (candidate is the proper word). All anchors say “An historic home”. An historic is incorrect, it should be “A historic home” when spoken in proper BASIC English. Amazing how colleges graduate people with such a poor command of the English language or perhaps they’re all stupid which is what I think. Laughable how many Emmy’s they win. The news director must be related to the head honcho there.

  4. I am very pleased that News 12 CT FINALLY filled their PM weather opening with the delightful Kari Hall. About time they hired a real professional. But perhaps Tom Appleby who called her Karen and anchor Erica Zaky who called her Sherry should make a better effort to remember the name of their co-worker. If I can remember her name, they should be able to.
