Kevin Rennie reports on his blog that former anchor Janet Peckinpaugh has filed the papers to run for the Republican nomination for Congress in the 2nd district. The seat is currently held by two-term Democrat Joe Courtney.
Dennis House says she will announce on Tuesday, May 11 at the state capitol and in Essex.
Colin McEnroe blogs about her entry into the race. He brings up a point that crossed our minds too:
My first thought: who knew The Peckinpaugh was a Republican? For as long as I’ve known her, she seemed to hang out with/ date/ marry Democrats.
Just one of many questions Janet will have to answer as she seeks the nomination for this office. And there will be questions; Dennis House has already put in a request for her to appear on “Face the State.”
