Betty Curren has died; she was the longtime editor and columnist for the “Society Section” of the New Haven Register, and worked at the paper from 1960-2006. She covered the big parties, decided who were the bold-faced names, and added a certain flair to The Register. According to her obituary, A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Hillhouse Avenue on Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock. Friends may call at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
