In the early part of this century if someone told you they were “a consultant” there was a good chance it meant they were out of work.

Today, “I have a podcast” seems to be an updated form of the euphemism that substitutes for the career transition. Especially among the chattering class.

NPR reporter Neda Ulaby has spotted another trend in popular culture: The Morally Dubious Podcaster.
