When we heard that radio talk show host Lee Elci of 94.9FM was running for the state Senate we immediately wondered how the station would be able to keep him on the air.
A week later, the station is in negotiations with Elci’s Democratic opponent, State Senator Martha Marx, about her own show, or some deal that would provide her with equal air time in accordance with long-standing FCC rules.
According to The Day of New London, Marx is considering a name for her show, and station management is trying to work out the details. In the meantime Elci is on the bench, off-air until the matter is sorted.
