Litchfield based WZBG-FM has been sold to the radio ownership group best known for its legacy flagship stations WDRC AM-FM.

CT Insider reports the station sold for $311,000 to Red Wolf Broadcasting. It is unclear whether Red Wolf plans to simulcast some of its programming on WZBG.

WZBG went on the air in 1992 with the mission of providing local programming to a part of the state often ignored by Hartford and New Haven based media outlets. Its ownership group included television producer Dick Ebersol and his wife, the actress, Susan St. James.
