Tribune Publishing is voluntarily recognizing the Hartford Courant Guild, the formation of which several members of the newsroom announced this week.
From a letter by Hartford Courant Publisher Andrew Julien:
We are voluntarily recognizing the Hartford Courant Guild as the representative of certain newsroom employees at the Hartford Courant and Courant Community so that we don’t get tied up in the bureaucracy of NLRB proceedings, and instead can devote every effort to our readers and our shared future. We are committed to cooperation as we take these next steps to better serve our readers.
