All has been quiet on the Sinclair Broadcast Group/Tribune Media front in the last couple of weeks, but new public filings show stations in up to ten markets may have to be spun off for the deal to work. Connecticut is not one of those markets.

Sinclair is buying Tribune Media at a cost of $6.6 billion, but the two station groups own stations with overlapping signals in some parts of the country. Under current FCC rules that’s not allowed.

Tribune owns Fox 61 and WCCT in Connecticut.
