A fill-in (Steve Parker) took over the hosting duties for today’s edition of “Connecticut Style,” Desiree Fontaine’s 12:30 pm show on WTNH. There’s not much that we can add to the news reports about Desiree being accused of shoplifting, except to say that we feel very sad for her and don’t envy the position in which News Director Kirk Varner finds himself.
I feel bad too. Desiree isn’t the kind of person to do that and like I’ve said, it has to be a big misunderstanding
I am amazed at all of the comments left on the new haven register site over this. We do not know the whole story. I also can’t help but wonder how often sears LP department involves the police when they catch a shoplifter. Is this consistent for that dollar amount she was allegedly caught stealing or did her name play a role in the discretion they have to get the police involved
