Long-time WWLP reporter and movie critic Sy Becker is dead.
His station announced this weekend that he died after a short illness. There had been speculation for months about his whereabouts after he seemed to disappear from the station and its website in the early spring.
His career spanned 60 years, mostly in Massachusetts, where he joined WWLP in 1979. His movie reviews aired in Connecticut on WTNH at one time.
