NPR has named Ayesha Rascoe the new permanent host of Weekend Edition Sunday.
Her first show was this week. The appointment comes nearly six months after Lulu Garcia Navarro stepped down to join the New York Times as a podcaster.
In an article published on NPR’s website, Rascoe mentions that she sounds like a “black woman from the south” on air and thanks NPR for never asking her to change that.
