Reports: Psaki to MSNBC

Connecticut native and White House press secretary Jen Psaki is “in advanced talks” with MSNBC about joining the network when she leaves her role as the president’s top spokesperson, according to the New York Times.

When Psaki took her White House job she made clear she intended to stay about one year. Reports earlier this year suggested she had hired an agent and was looking for a network position.

The Times story says her exact role has not been defined. An immediate move from the White House podium to the anchor chair is sure to draw criticism from some quarters about the government/news media revolving door.

While careful to say “no contracts have been signed,” Axios, takes the story further and suggests the move is a done deal.
