‘It’s rarely good news when the media outlet you work for changes ownership so we’re nervous for our friends at WFSB that Meredith is considering selling its 17 TV stations.

On a more positive note, WFSB has hired retired State Police Lt. Paul Vance as its law enforcement analyst. Lt. Vance was the state police spokesperson during the Sandy Hook school shooting and received high praise for how he handled the media and informed the public. The Laurel has been watching Fox 61’s use of former Hartford Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley during its newscasts; law enforcement pros can add some interesting perspective.

And there’s more: WFSB has hired Meriden Record-Journal reporter Mike Savino as a general assignment reporter.
