Rick Green has been promoted to assistant managing editor at the Hartford Courant.
The promotion gives Green more authority over the “hour-to-hour” operation of the newsroom following Andrew Julien’s promotion to editor and publisher.
Green will oversee the deployment of resources to handle breaking news and continue to oversee the politics and business staffs.
Julien will focus more on “strategic planning in news, enterprise, investigations and special publications.”
