Four new reporters have joined the news and sports staff of The New Haven Register and The Register Citizen of Torrington. The newbies include:
- Mary Albl: Hailing from The Post Star in Glens Falls, NY, Mary joins as a new sports reporter and will focus on Fairfield County high school sports with the majoirty of her work appearing in the Westport Minuteman and Fairfield Minuteman in addition to the Register.
- Michelle Merlin: A prior intern for The Register Citizen and a recent graduate of Washington University in St. Louis , Merlin will join the team at The Register Citizen in Torrington.
- Shahi Abdul-Karim: Shahi will be joining the New Haven Register where he will focus on covering the city of New Haven with special emphasis on schools, housing issues and neighborhoods.
- Rich Scinto: Rich Scinto also joins the Register as a new reporter where he will be covering Milford Schools and local government. He was previously a general assignment reporter at the Record Journal in Meriden.
