Mirror, Mirror…

It’s the beginning of 2021 and the beginning of two fair new faces being seen as part of the CTMirror team.

Veteran reporter Dave Altimari (above) leaves the Hartford Courant after twenty years covering such stories as the investigation, impeachment and arrest of Governor Rowland, the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on Connecticut nursing homes, and investigations into police brutality, among other essential Connecticut news. Dave will be the first investigative reporter at the Mirror.

Land of Steady Habits podcast host, John Dankosky (below), will pivot into a new role as the Mirror’s first Director of Multi-Platform Content. He was one of the founders of CT Mirror, but now joins the ranks as an employee.  John worked in Public Radio for over twenty-five years and his voice has become synonymous with Connecticut and New England stories and news.  We enjoyed listening to John host WNPR’s Where We Live and as a moderator at political debates and more recently on podcasts.

According to a recent press release, “Expanding CT Mirror’s coverage and distribution of our content to new platforms are the two major pillars of our current strategic plan,” explained CT Mirror Publisher Bruce Putterman. “The addition of Dave and John are giant leaps forward in advancing our mission of informing Connecticut about public policy and holding government accountable.”

Congratulations to the CT Mirror for expanding its team to include these two Connecticut journalists!
