Abdul Osmanu and Miriam Kahn are making history and People magazine in Hamden. The two 19 year olds have been elected to the Town Council and the Board of Education, respectively. Both ran as Democrats.

UConn’s Paige Bueckers has signed her first name, image and likeness deal in what is being called the NIL era of college sports. The sophomore point guard for the women’s basketball team has signed with the apparel marketplace known as StockX. According to ESPN, Bueckers’ contract could be worth $380,000 per year, which should cover books and other school supplies easily.

Speculation is ramping up about the future of MSNBC’s evening line-up after the announcement this week that Brian Williams will retire at the end of the year. The cable news network is already in the hunt for a replacement for Rachel Maddow who is also expected to step away from daily hosting next year. The latest speculation brings new names into the mix, a hint that Nicolle Wallace is not interested for parenting reasons, and the strong suggestion that Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski(WFSB/Fox 61) are in contract talks and might be interested in moving to prime-time.
