A bit under the radar, NPR White House correspondent and former WBUR Boston reporter Asma Khalid, left the network this summer to launch a podcast for the BBC.

The Global Story launched last week. Khalid co-hosts the show with former Al Jazeera journalist Tristan Redman. The podcast focuses on international news with Khalid based in Washington, D.C. and Redman in London. Khalid’s departure from NPR comes following a congressional vote earlier this year to de-fund public broadcasting.
