According to CTTalking.com AM radio station WOR has been sold to Clear Channel.

“New York City AM Radio icon WOR has been sold by Connecticut-based Buckley Broadcasting to Clear Channel.  Online sites are reporting the price at $40 million.  And it won’t take Clear Channel long to jump into the 50,000-watt station’s driver’s seat.  Even though the sale is pending FCC approval, reportedly an LMA will go into effect Wednesday.  Speculation already has Clear Channel syndicated programs Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity jumping from WABC radio to WOR.

Buckley Broadcasting owns four small AM stations in Connecticut, including WDRC in Hartford.  It also owns WDRC-FM.  The sale of WOR marks a recent trend by Buckley Broadcasting, which divested itself of two Syracuse radio stations.”

  1. Ugh, one could only hope. Time to put Brad Davis out to pasture. Tired of listening to him recite news articles and interview authors of books he didn’t even read. The lineup is crap. The program director should be run out of town. Maybe someone will be smart enough to realize they should give Rowland a run for his money.
