The Connecticut chapter of the Society for Professional Journalists is inducting Denise D’Ascenzo and Lisa Chedekel into the CT SPJ Journalists Hall of Fame.
The posthumous honors were announced Wednesday.
D’Ascenzo was the eleven time Emmy Award winning anchor for WFSB. Chedekel was a long-time reporter with the New Haven Register and the Hartford Courant. At the Courant she made her mark as an investigative features reporter and later co-founded a non-profit covering health news.
The SPJ said in its announcement, “Both journalists made significant contributions to the field…and left and indelible mark on the state of Connecticut.”
