Floyd Wright, 72


Long time Connecticut radio personality Floyd Wright is dead, according to a social media post by his friend and colleague Jerry Kristafer. He was 72.

Kristafer says Wright, known as “Friendly Floyd” died Sunday. Other postings say he suffered a heart attack.

Wright is best known for his time at WDRC, but also worked at WKCI, WWYZ and WYNY in New York. In recent years he was part of a Connecticut all-star band of radio names filling out the schedule at WJMJ in Middletown.
