Bethpage, N.Y.-based Cablevision announced late Monday afternoon that is asking the Federal Communications Commission to launch a special investigation into whether WFSB’s corporate parent, The Meredith Corp., is meeting public interest obligations that are an important component of all television station licenses. The move comes just three days after WFSB yanked its signal from Cablevision systems serving subscribers in Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven counties.
