Some changes on the communications side of Governor Lamont’s office:

Senior Advisor Colleen Flanagan Johnson, who oversees communications, is going back to CIGNA, her previous employer. No surprise there; she always made it clear she would be a short-timer and help the administration in year one. Jonathan Harris moves into her role.

Communications Director Maribel La Luz is moving over to the Department of Economic Development where she will serve as senior advisor for external affairs. She will be developing and executing strategy in economic development, with the goal of strengthening DECD’s outreach efforts in the business community.

Max Reiss will move into La Luz’s position, serving as Communications Director. Reiss joined NBC CT in 2014 and quickly became a well-respected reporter who understood politics and strategy. He hosted the Sunday interview program “Face the Facts” so the future of that broadcast is TBD.

Last but not least, McDowell Jewett Communications alum Rob Blanchard will now move up to Deputy Communications Director, working closely with Reiss.
