From this morning’s Politico Playbook, comes word former Hartford Courant reporter Carrie Budoff Brown has received an almost immediate field promotion at the new European offices of Politico in Brussels.
CARRIE BUDOFF BROWN today was promoted to Managing Editor of POLITICO in Europe. Editor Matt Kaminski announced his #2 today in the Brussels newsroom, to applause: “She has stepped up from Day 1 … to really run this place.”

Budoff Brown has been with Politico since its launch and served for several years as the site’s White House correspondent. The company is in the middle of a major expansion plan which is taking the brand overseas and to nearly all 50 U.S. states.
