The Hartford History Center at the Hartford Public Library is sponsoring a special exhibit on the life of Radio Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Steele, the voice of WTIC for a half century. The exhibited materials on are on loan from his personal collection and include letters, cartoons and photographs.”Bob Steele’s Century Exhibition” opens December 8 and runs through December 22.

  1. I am absolutely going to bring my family to this exhibit. I grew up listening to Mr. Steele every morning–his ‘word of the day’ gave me a lifelong love of the English language. I can still hear his show’s opening music and I can still hear his voice. He’s still missed after his passing nearly a decade ago. How time flies…
