Some other Hartford Courant reporters whom we’ve been told are taking the paper’s buyout option, in addition to columnist Susan Campbell, are music guy Eric Danton, Mark Spencer (who has written some great immigration stories), and sports reporter Shawn Courchesne who covers autoracing. What people in the newsroom are wondering is whether these departures and some others will be enough to avoid layoffs.
