We’ve received word that investigative reporter Alan Cohn is leaving WTNH.  Alan had been with the station since 2001 and won a Peabody award in 2007 for his series of investigations into questions about the quality control standards at Sikorsky Aircraft.

He’s been a familiar face in the market as he reported for Fox61 in 1992 and New England Cable Network from1993-1999. He and his wife are also members of the WPOP radio alumni group – Alan was there from 1985-87 as morning drive producer and reporter; his wife Patty, who went by her maiden name, was morning drive anchor Pat Beaudry.

Alan will be taking his talents to WFTS in Tampa, Florida (another ABC affiliate) and heading up its investigative unit.

As Yankees fans, he and his family are thrilled to be moving to the spring training home of the team. Alan, we’ll miss you.

  1. What a shame! Both he and Mark Davis are one of the few reasons I actually watch WTNH. They’re the only ones who do any original reporting there. Everything else comes off the wire. I guess now we’ll just have more of Sonia telling us what’s the best microwave on the market, or Jodi reminding us to use mosquito repelent, Desiree giving her reviews on Dancing With the Stars, Crystal letting us know how the weather is affecting tourism, and so on. I guess that’s what they call news at WTNH. Therefore It’s best that real reporters like Alan Cohn go elsewhere. Best of luck to him!
